Pravasi Teerath Darshan Yojana (PTDY)

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GOI) organizes Pravasi Teerath Darshan Yojanas (PTDY) for the elder generation to visit India and reconnect with their root. The Programme is available to many Latin American Countries including Guyana for Persons of Indian Origin (in the age group of 45 to 65) who have never been to India previously and fall in the low-income group.

The tours include visits to Delhi, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Ajmer, Patna, Gaya, Chennai, Madurai, Trivandrum, Kochi and Pondicherry for a period of 18 to 25 days.

The Government of India bears complete expenditure on boarding/lodging/gratis visa and 90% of the economy class return air-ticket to the participants. 10% of the airfare cost is borne by the participant.

Applications are filled online at http://kip.gov.in/home/register External icon. When filling the Application Form, the applicant should indicate their order of preferences for the PTDYs.

Printed and signed Application and Annexure Form, along with 2 recent Passport size photographs and a copy of Guyanese Passport are to be submitted to High Commission of India for the Pravasi Teerath Darshan Yojanas latest by the stated dates.
