INDIAN VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURE
The High Commission of India in Georgetown (Guyana) has introduced Biometrics and Immigration Visa Foreigner Registration Tracking (IVFRT) system for Indian Visa in Guyana. The High Commission has switched-over to Online Visa Application Filing for visa applicants with effect from 15 November 2019. Manually filled-in visa applications will no longer be accepted.
Standard requirements and Procedures when applying for Indian Visa:
- Duly filled online Visa Application Registration Form available on the Website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/Registration. Please ensure that all columns are filled in completely and correctly. The visa application will not be registered by the system unless the application form is completed properly.
- Current passport along with the photocopy of bio-data pages. Passport must have atleast 6 months validity before issuance of Visa.
- Two photographs (2”x2”). One photo should be pasted on first page, in specific place, and one attached on top of application.
- Copy of resident permit/visa in country of stay.
- Proof of Address of current place of stay such as Utility Bill/Bank Statement/Driving License/ Rent Lease copy.
- A bank statement indicating balance of not less that GY$500,000.00/-
- Certificate of International Yellow Fever vaccination card (original & copy).
- Fees must be paid in full by the applicants at the time of submission of the application form and passport at the High Commission. Fees, once paid, will not be refunded. Cash is accepted only by walk-in applicants. In case of Postal/Courier Application, Bank Draft will be accepted in the name of ‘High Commission of India, Georgetown’. Only exact amount of fees plus ICWF should be paid.
- The printed Visa Application Form should be submitted physically at the High Commission along with all other required documents for the type of visa. Please ensure all required documents are properly attached and in the correct order.
- For delivery by courier please include the prepaid/return air waybill account number inside the package, addressed to the undermentioned:

- The visa application will further be processed by the High Commission and visa will be granted/refused subject to the Indian authorities concerned.
- Processing of a Visa takes about 1 to 2 weeks depending on type of Visa required.
Specific Requirements for each type of Visa
Business Visa
- All the standard requirements as stated above.
- Invitation Letter from Indian Company/Organization.
- Letter from Local Employer.
- Registration of Indian and Local Company/Organisation.
Conference Visa
- All the standard requirements as stated above.
- Letter of Invitation from the Organizer of the event in India.
- Clearance Letter from MEA and MHA
Medical Visa
- Patient (Medical Visa):

- Letter from Hospital or Medical Institution stating clearly the patient’s details.
- Appointment Letter from Indian Hospital/Clinic for treatment and length.
- Person accompanying Patient (Medical Attendant Visa):

- Letter from Local Hospital or Clinic mentioning name as Medical Attendant.
- Letter from Indian Hospital mentioning name as Medical Attendant.
- Visa copy of Patient accompanying.
Student Visa
- All the standard requirements as stated above.
- Official letter of acceptance from the University/College or Registered Institute.
- Undertaking of financial guarantee from the sponsor/parent.
- For Non-Guyanese applicants:Original Resident Permit along with the standard requirements.
Transit Visa
- All the standard requirements as stated above.
- Confirmed air tickets need to be produced.
- Transit visa is valid for fifteen (15) days only.
Tourist Visa
- All the standard requirements as stated above.
- Any other document as requested by the Indian Authorities concerned.
e-Tourist Visa
The Government of India has introduced e-Tourist visa facilities. Window for application under this category is 120 days and stay in India under this will be allowed for 60 days. The visa application is not required to be sent to High Commission of India Office.
