Study in India (SII) website-portal
The Study in India (SII) website-portal was launched in India jointly by Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs and Hon’ble Minister of Education on 3rd August 2023, as a one-stop solution for admission and via applications for foreign students desirous of pursuing their education in Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) in India. The Study in India project aims to support India as a major educational hub for international students by inviting them to pursue higher education in the country. With an attractive array of diverse features, the project is an ideal platform for international students to experience the best that Indian education has to offer.
SII portal is a one-stop platform for international students, facilitating application submission, admission processes, and visa applications for those seeking to pursue education in India. All foreign students who wish to study in India, will now have to mandatorily register on the SII portal and submit the required information on the portal. Upon registration, the portal generates a unique ID or ‘SII-ID’ which will be quoted on the student visa application. Ministry of Home Affairs of India has launched the e-Student Visa, enabling application of student visa using SII-ID via the Indian Vira Portal.
