            Hindi Day Celebration हिंदी दिवस समारोह

           Under the banner of India @75 (आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) from 2021 to 2023, the High Commission of India in Georgetown in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Georgeorgetown celebrated Hindi Day हिंदी दिवस समारोह  on Monday, 27 September 2021 as part of its weeklong Azadi Ka Amrit  Mahotsav Celebrations,  in a suitable manner by following all COVID-19 protocols.   

 

  • H.E. Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, High Commissioner of India to Guyana addressed the gathering and read the Message of Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Rajiv Gauba on Hindi Day 2021 and called for universal adoption of Hindi.  Video Messages of H.E. Dr. S.  Jaishankar - External Affairs Minister and Hon. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi - Minister of State for External Affairs on Hindi  Day 2021 were played.  Hon. Mr. Vikash Ramkissoon - Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Beni Singh -  Founder of Guyana Hindi Prachar Sabha, Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Bank of Baroda, Guyana delivered their remarks on the auspicious ocassion. Mr. Deen Dayal Singh - Second Secretary, welcomed the guests and recited a poem on “Hindi”. Pt. Ghansham Persaud, Mr. Dhanpaul Mohan, Mr. Deodat Siriram, Guyanese Alumni of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra share their views on promotion and propogation of Hindi in Guyana. Mr. Khemraj Persaud -Alumni of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan recited a poem in Hindi. Mr. Deen Dayal Singh - Second Secretary, High Commission of India, Georgetown spoke about Hindi Day as well as recited a poem in Hindi.

 

 

  • Cultural performances were also organised during the celebration.  Mr Amjad Ali Warsi, Tabla Teacher cum performer of SVCC Georgetown, alongwith his students performed a piece on Hindi’s relevance while Kathak dance performance was delivered by former SVCC dance stundents.
