3rd Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz

          H.E. Dr K J Srinivasa, High Commissioner of India to Guyana today presented the Gold Medal of the 3rd Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye (Know India - BKJ) Quiz to Ms. Devica Uditram, a Guyanese National, at a brief ceremony held at the High Commission, under all COVID-19 related health protocols.  A total of 123 entries were received in all three categories from Guyana. Ms Devica Uditram stood first from Person of Indian Origin (PIO)  category in First round and was declared as winner of Gold Medal.

BKJ Quiz was launched in 2015-16 in order to strengthen the engagement with young overseas Indians and encourage them to know more about their country of origin. A large number of India Diaspora members across the world generally participate in this Quiz. This year, the 3rd Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz 2020-21 was held virtually from 30 September to 28 December 2020. 15 winners of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz were announced during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention online and were invited for an India Tour (Bharat Ko Janiye Darshan) after Covid. The 3rd Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz was organized by the Ministry External Affairs, Government of India, for three distinct categories viz. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), PIOs and Foreign Nationals between the ages of 18 to 35 years.

The quiz competition consists of 4 rounds. The First round of quiz was held from 1 to 30 November 2020, Second round from 7 to 13 December 2020, Third round (Semi Final) from 14 to 20 December 2020 and Final round was held on 28 December 2020.

The quiz was conducted to motivate the participants to enhance their knowledge about India including on various topics covering on Art and Architecture, Economy, Geography, Indian Mythology, Science & Technology.
