Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC)
ITEC Courses through the High Commission of India, Georgetown are available to Nationals of: Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis and CARICOM in Guyana.
Each Financial Year, the ITEC Portal is open with Courses offered during July (the current year) to March (the following year).
The recommended time for processing of each application is three (3) months prior to commencement of the selected Course.
Applicants must be medically fit, between 25 to 45 years, with atleast 5 years’ work experience at a Government Office in the applicant’s country or CARICOM Secretariat; and fulfil the other criteria/s as required by the Institute offering the Course.
Instructions for completing ITEC Applications
Select the ITEC Course from the list of Courses online based on your eligibility (as stated above).

View the course details from drop down arrow.
Note: Only OPEN courses that are available.
Click on APPLY NOW.
Next to course name click Apply.
Carefully read instructions then select Country/Secretariat, then click Proceed.
2. Complete the ITEC application form online and submit without interruption (site times out if left idle): https://www.itecgoi.in/meaportal/registerApplicant
3. The screen will be refreshed and you will be asked to input your email Id and password (password for the ITEC profile not your email). You must activate your profile by signing into your profile on the ITEC Portal. You will then be given the option to print the application.
3. Complete Medical form (attached to the printed ITEC Application) by a Doctor from registered hospitals and provide original with printed ITEC application.
*NOTE: Original Medical form is required.
4. Get the approval from your competent authority (employer). Nomination form attached to printed application must be signed by Employer or nominating authority.
5. One copy of the printed application with original Medical form, one passport photo and duly attested nomination page should be forwarded by the Ministry of Presidency- Department of Public Service through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guyana to the High Commission of India; or through the CARICOM Secretariat.
6. For accredited countries (Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis and Anguilla):
- The application/s should be forwarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Trade of each country to the High Commission of India by email to edu.georgetown@mea.gov.in to enable early processing.
- Upon receiving approval for the applicant to participate in the Course the Ministry is required to send all original documents by prepaid Courier to the High Commission of India to have the issuance of Indian Visa and purchase of Air-ticket for the selected participant.
